Hospitality & Leisure

The Community Ambassador Program is for those who interact with visitors in their work to have a clear and consistent message for the visitor. We want our front-line to learn all that the community has to offer and to be able to share what you learn with those who visit. We want the visitor to know how to have a variety of experiences for their trip so they will keep coming back.

The communities of Coos Bay, North Bend, and Charleston have chosen to work with OSU Extension tourism program to create their own Community Ambassador training. They want the local workforce to be able to share about great things to do here, the tours, activities, the culture, the wildlife, the food, lodging, special events.

This program is being conducted in partnership by the Coos Bay/North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau, Oregon State University Extension Tourism Program, the Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board and the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Visitors to Coos Coos County spent 261 million dollars in the year 2017 alone!

OSU Extension can create a customized Community Ambassador program for your community also, just contact us! You can use the Service Request link on the main menu bar.
