If You’ve Been Affected by a Layoff or Job Change

If you’ve been laid off, your hours have been reduced, or economic changes have impacted your work, there are services available to help you move forward. 

These services are designed specifically for individuals navigating a job loss or major change in employment. 

Career Transition Services  for  Dislocated Workers

Career Transition Services for Dislocated Workers are available to individuals whose employment has changed or ended, including those who have:

  • Lost your job through no fault of your own

  • Been laid off, terminated, or received notice of a layoff

  • Applied for, received, or exhausted unemployment benefits

  • Lost self-employment due to economic conditions (including farming, ranching, or fishing)

  • Experienced job loss due to relocation as the spouse of an active duty service member

These services are part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and are delivered locally through the WorkSource Oregon network.

Through the workforce system, you can access:

 

  • Job search and career guidance

  • Training and skill-building opportunities

  • Work-based learning, including on-the-job training

  • Support services that help you participate in training or employment

  • Connections to local employers and hiring opportunities

What to expect

After you get connected, local teams will work with you to understand your situation, identify options, and connect you to employment, training, and support services that fit your goals.

You don’t need to know if you qualify before getting started.
