SOWIB Seeks Community Input on 2024-2028 Plan


February 16, 2024: Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board (SOWIB), the local Workforce Development Board overseeing the Coos, Curry & Douglas Counties workforce investment system, is inviting community input on its comprehensive Four-Year Local Plan for Adult/Dislocated Worker and Youth programs as mandated by the United States Department of Labor under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The draft plan, covering the period 2024 – 2028, will be available for public review and comment for 30 days: 2/16/2024 – 3/17/2024.

The Local Plan details operational and compliance strategies for services delivered at WorkSource Oregon locations in Coos, Curry & Douglas Counties, aligning with Oregon’s integrated Workforce Delivery System. This plan is developed with input from WorkSource Oregon partner agencies and valuable insights from community stakeholders, including representatives in business, labor, economic development, and education sectors.
