Economic Indicators for Coos, Curry and Douglas Counties

Here are the latest economic indicators for Douglas, Coos and Curry counties.

The graph of the month features the Forestry and Logging industry. Brian Rooney, Regional Economist, has put together an in-depth article that details the industry that has impacted our area for many years. The graph of the month shows the cyclical business of the support activities like planting and thinning in the timber industry. You can read the entire article here.

Douglas County added 160 jobs in September showing some signs of recovery. The county has added back 38 percent of the jobs that were lost since the pandemic began in March. You can find more information about the county here.

Coos and Curry job gains have slowed some adding only 90 jobs in the two counties during the month of September. You can see more detail on Coos and Curry County here.

As always if you are in need of labor and market information for your county, please reach out with questions that you many have. If you have a specific presentation need for your organization, I would be happy to help with that.

Take care,

Polly
